What is a Destination Experience?

A Destination Experience is a carefully curated excursion designed to immerse you in the culture, history, nature, and flavours of each port of call. Experiences range from small-group cultural tours to exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime adventures crafted specifically for luxury travellers.

How do I book a Destination Experience?

You may book directly through your guest profile before your Journey, or onboard by visiting the Destination Experiences team. Early booking is recommended, as many of our more exclusive tours have limited availability.

How much do Destination Experiences cost?

Pricing varies depending on several factors, including the length of the experience, the type of transportation used, the level of activity, the inclusions, and the exclusivity of the content. All prices are clearly listed on our website within each tour description. Please note that pre-journey pricing may be lower than onboard pricing, so we recommend booking in advance whenever possible.

Typically, how long is a Destination Experience?

Most experiences range from 3 to 7 hours, while full-day explorations may last up to 10 hours depending on the time in port. Each experience clearly lists the duration so you can choose what best fits your day.

Will I spend a lot of the allotted time in transfers?

We aim to minimise travel time and maximise your time at the destination. Transfer durations vary depending on the port, but all experiences are designed to offer a comfortable, seamless Journey.

Which languages will tours be conducted in?

All Destination Experiences are conducted in English, unless stated otherwise. In select ports, private guides may be available in additional languages upon request.

Are Destination Experiences appropriate for all ages and physical abilities?

We offer a wide variety of experiences suitable for different interests and activity levels. Each tour includes a physical-intensity rating to help you choose the experience most comfortable for you.

Will food and drinks be included in the Destination Experience?

Many experiences include snacks, beverages, or a full meal, depending on the itinerary. All inclusions are listed in the tour description.

What if I have food allergies and can’t eat what is offered?

Please inform us at the time of making your reservation and we will do our best to accommodate dietary needs. While we work closely with our partners, availability of alternatives may vary by destination.

How do I know an experience is safe?

Your safety is our highest priority. All partners and venues undergo a rigorous vetting process, and our tours follow the highest operational and safety standards in the industry.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation conditions vary by experience and destination. Full details are available during reservation and in your confirmation documents.

Can I get a refund if I am ill on the day of the Destination Experience?

If you become ill, please contact the Destination Experiences team as soon as possible. Refunds may be considered depending on local supplier conditions and timing.

Can I get a refund if I’m not happy with the experience?

We encourage you to share any concerns with us immediately. While refunds cannot be guaranteed, we will review the situation carefully and assist you in the best way possible.

Can someone else in my booking take my place on a Destination Experience if I decide not to go?

Yes, if the tour has not yet commenced and operational requirements allow, another guest in your booking may take your place. However, please note that in certain destinations—such as the Alhambra Palace, the Colosseum, or the Vatican—tickets must be purchased in advance under each guest’s name. In these cases, tickets are non-transferable, and substitutions are not permitted.

What happens if I’ve booked a Destination Experience and the ship’s itinerary changes?

If an itinerary change occurs, we will automatically cancel affected experiences and provide a full refund. Our team will also assist you in selecting alternative experiences at the updated destination.

Do you offer accessible shore excursions?

Yes, although availability varies by destination. Our standard transport does not include dedicated wheelchair-accessible vehicles; however, foldable wheelchairs and walkers can be accommodated and stored in the bus compartments. Please note that guests must be able to independently manage 5 to 6 steps when boarding and disembarking the bus. We also offer a limited number of specially designed accessible experiences in select destinations. These tours use dedicated accessible vehicles and follow tailored itineraries. Because of their specialised nature, availability is limited, and we strongly recommend pre-booking to secure a place. If you require arrangements outside of our standard offering, please contact our Explora Experience Centre immediately for the best assistance. Such requests for accessible tours must be processed in advance to guarantee the appropriate vehicle and ensure a smooth experience.

Where do I meet to start my Destination Experience?

The meeting point depends on the specific tour and port of call. The only official place where the meeting time and location are listed is on your ticket. If you have pre-booked your Destination Experiences, your tickets will be placed in your suite on embarkation day. If you book onboard, you will receive your ticket immediately. Please always check your ticket carefully for both the meeting location and the meeting time, and ensure you arrive promptly. If you are unsure, our Hosts will be happy to assist you.

Can I take part in multiple Destination Experiences on the same day?

Yes, if the timing of the two Destination Experiences allows. There should be at least 30 minutes between the arrival back onboard time of the first programme and the departure time of the second. We take no responsibility if the first programme is delayed and the guests are unable to join the second programme.
