The three-street town of Katakolo in the Peloponnese serves as the gateway to Ancient Olympia, a sanctuary of outstanding cultural significance and site of the first Olympic Games in 776BC. Time travel to classical antiquity as we tread among ruins of the stadium, temples to Hera and Zeus and the Doric columns of the palaestra wrestling grounds, deepening our understanding at the archaeological museum and Museum of the History of the Olympic Games.
