Rendezvous in the massive reservoir of Gatun Lake, nestled in the middle of the Isthmus of Panama. An integral water source for the Panama Canal and the fertile Chagres Valley, the islet-scattered area boast some of the most intensively studied tropical forests in the world. Created by a colossal dam on the Chagres River, near its mouth at the Caribbean Sea, the lake swells to 422 sq km (163 sq mi) and is the second largest man-made lake on the continent teeming with an amazing abundance of wildlife, diving, fishing and sailing.
