At the edge of the massive Northern Patagonian ice field, charming little Puerto Chacabuco is the gateway to some of the most beautiful and incredulous sights in this part of Chilean Patagonia. Deep into the fjords of the Aysén region, the San Rafael Glacier looms. One of the final remaining and rapidly disappearing relics of Patagonia's ice age, this huge block of brilliant blue is surprisingly surrounded by gorgeous green rainforest. Jaw-dropping contrasts continue with views of hummingbirds, herons, swans, chucao, ducks, and condors all residing together at ice edge. Nature in extreme excellence awaits with deeper experiences into Patagonia, including fly-fishing, horseback riding and mindfulness in the surrounding Simpson Valley and Coyhaique National Reserve.
