No. The Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service operates between designated pick-up and drop-off points only.

Is Uber and other ride sharing services available?

Uber and other ride sharing services are not permitted to operate pick-ups in Monaco, but operate from the Nice airport.

What happens if I arrive outside the Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service operating hours?

If your arrival or departure falls outside the Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service operating hours, the Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service will not be available. You will need to arrange your own transportation, such as a taxi, at your own expense.

Is the Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service free?

Yes, the Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service is free of charge.

Do I need to pre-reserve the Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service?

No, pre-reservation is not mandatory but is strongly recommended.

Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service - Accessibility
Is wheelchair-accessible transport available?

Accessible transportation is limited and must be pre-reserved at least one month in advance. For assistance, please contact our Guest Care Team at the following email address: guestcare@explorajourneys.com

NB: The use of a wheelchair or mobility scooter is mandatory to qualify for this service. For mobility scooters, dimensions and weight must also be provided. 

What if accessible transport is not available?

You must be able to board independently (5–6 steps) and use foldable mobility equipment.

  • Reservations from five days up to 25 hours prior to the sailing date of the Journey: Both Pre- & Post-Journey Complimentary Shared Shuttle Service reservations may be requested through our Explora Experience Centre and are confirmed immediately
  • Reservations from 24 hours prior to the sailing date of the Journey: Only Post-Journey Complimentary Shared Shuttle Services may be reserved. All reservation requests may be made only onboard

Private Helicopter Transfer - General Information
What is the Private Helicopter Transfer?

A premium paid transfer service between Nice Côte d’Azur Heliport and Monaco Port and vice versa.

What is included?

Flight, ground transportation between Monaco Heliport and Monaco Port or Nice Heliport and the airport departure terminal, and Meet & Greet services. 

NB: If you arrive by air at Nice Airport, you will be met in the arrivals hall by Explora Journeys hosts located at a designated desk and will be escorted to the helicopter provider’s location. If you arrive by other means, please proceed to Terminal 1 arrivals hall (between doors A1 and A2), where Explora Journeys hosts will welcome you at a designated desk, before escorting you to the helicopter provider’s location. 

Is this service complimentary?

No. This is an additional paid service.

How long is the flight?

Approximately 7 minutes.

Private Helicopter Transfer - Capacity & Luggage
How many guests can travel?

Limited to the maximum capacity per helicopter (five guests).

Is luggage restricted?

Yes. Luggage is limited based on aircraft capacity. Guests can bring in total: two carry-on bags 35 x 35 x 25 cm and two suitcases 50 x 74 x 25 cm.

Private Helicopter Transfer - Children Policy
Can infants travel?

Yes. Under two years, they can sit on their parent’s lap with safety belt. No special child rates apply.

When should I arrive?
  • 15 minutes before departure from Monaco Heliport.
  • 30 minutes for departures from Nice.
Are there additional procedures?

Yes, at Nice Heliport there are border police checks. Transfer to helipad is approx. 20–30 minutes.

What happens in case of delays or cancellations?

Please inform Explora Journeys. Rebooking is subject to availability.

What if the helicopter is cancelled due to weather?

You will be offered either a refund, rescheduled flight or credit (valid for 1 year)

When is payment required?

Immediate payment is required at reservation.

Can reservations be cancelled or modified?

Yes, same guidelines as the Complimentary Shuttle Service, however, changes are subject to availability, and no refund is given nor for modifications or cancellations.

Is the service refundable?

No. 100% non-refundable from the moment of payment.

Can the helicopter type change?

Yes, depending on availability and flight operations.

Embarkation & Disembarkation Procedures
What is the embarkation and disembarkation process on 3 June?

Disembarkation: 

  • The disembarkation is via a tender service from Port Hercule (where EXPLORA I is docked) to Port de Fontvieille. This applies to all guests, regardless of their onward travel arrangements
  • Luggage will be transported separately, so you should keep all important items and documents with you. Hand-luggage is allowed on the tender boat. Luggage will be placed in Port de Fontvieille and you will be required to identify your luggage before proceeding to the transportation
  • Disembarkation times will be shared on board. You will receive a disembarkation letter indicating the time based on your departure arrangements. 
  • Porters will be available to assist guests with luggage (complimentary).

Embarkation: 

  • The embarkation is via a tender service from Port de Fontvieille to Port Hercule, where EXPLORA I will be docked, regardless of your arrival method. 
  • Embarkation will commence at 14:00. 
  • You will be required to drop your main luggage at the Meet & Greet point in Port de Fontvieille. Luggage will be transported separately via land transportation, so you should keep all important items and documents with you. Luggage will be delivered to your suite. Hand-luggage is allowed on the tender boat. 
  • Porters will be available to assist with your luggage (complimentary).
What is the embarkation and disembarkation process on 8 June?

Disembarkation

  • You will disembark from Port Hercule, where EXPLORA I will be docked and will depart directly from Port Hercule, regardless of your onward travel arrangements. Luggage will be placed outside the ship, and you will be required to identify your items before proceeding to the transportation. 
  • Disembarkation times will be shared on board. you will receive a disembarkation letter indicating the time based on your departure arrangements. 
  • Porters will be available to assist you with your luggage (complimentary).

Embarkation

  • You will embark from Port Hercule, where EXPLORA I will be docked. Embarkation will begin at 12:00. You are required to drop your luggage at the luggage drop off desk and then you will proceed on board for check-in. Luggage will be delivered to your suite.
  • Porters will be available to assist with your luggage.
Is this applicable also if I make independent transportation arrangements?

Yes, guests who book their own transportation should follow the same procedures.

I am a guest staying in an Ocean Residence, am I still entitled to private transportation to and from the ship?

Is there a luggage limit?

There is no strict luggage restriction, however, you are kindly asked to travel with reasonable quantities and to adhere to your airline’s luggage guidelines.

How much time should I allow?

You should consider traffic, customs procedures and transfer duration which may take longer than normal due to the complexity of logistics during the Grand Prix period.
